It is no longer news that Sunshine Stars of Akure has retained NPFL status after recent victories against Remo Stars and Doma United.
Sunshine Stars were on the relegation zone when Nigeria professional football league was left six games.
Having foreseen that the matches against Remo Stars and Doma United must be won in order for Sunshine Stars to remain in NPFL,Dr Odomode Adeyemi LaCrown made a financial pledge for the team.
The Ikaram-born Sports enthusiast and philanthropist promised to give #100 for a goal score in the encounters against Remo Stars and Doma United.
That pledge boosted the morale of the team as they won the two games, scoring three goals.
Dr Odomode Adeyemi LaCrown has subsequently redeemed his pledge.
Dr Odomode Adeyemi said the government can not know everything that private individuals and bodies need to complement the government's efforts.
He lauded Sunshine Stars' spirit in the survival battle.
He also appreciated the Ondo state government for making available the needed resources in the survival battle.
Sunshine Stars finished the season tenth on the log with 52 points.
Dr Odomode Adeyemi LaCrown is the convener of the Ikaram marathon as well as the President of Odomode LaCrown Football Academy Ikaram-akoko. He's also the sole sponsor of Akoko Unity Cup, which is in the third season this year
