It was a captivating and fun-filled sporting activities and a convivial experience, as Messiah group of schools, Ore held its maiden Inter House Sports Competition.
The one-day sports fiesta was well attended by parents and guardians with the elementary and secondary students showcasing their sporting talents to the admiration of the guests.
It was in a friendly atmosphere filled with grandeur and excitement that the athletes took to the track to outsmart one another for the coveted trophy.
Some of the events at the games which held at the School Premises, Ogbe Ore, were March Past, 50meters (Girls and Boys), 75meters (Girls and Boys), 100 meters (Junior Girls and Boys), 100 meters (Senior Boys and Girls), 200 meters (Senior Boys and Girls), Fill in the Basket (Girls), Egg race(Boys) Fill-in the bottle,(Girls) and Sack Race (Boys)
The day began with the colourful march past from the participating houses – yellow, blue green and purple with the teams showcasing the rich-culture of Nigeria.
The march past was followed by the sprint events with the athletes taking to the track in their bid to amass points for their houses.
The event also witnessed cultural displays in Yoruba and Igbo languages and invitation relay
The school coordinator Mr Akande Ayodele while speaking with Sportsgister Correspondent appreciated almighty God for the rare opportunity to witness the school's maiden inter-house sports competition.
He commended the staff and sports committee members for organizing an hitchfree event.
When asked if inter-house sports would be held annually going forward,he responded by saying it will be a biennial event.
At the end of the keenly contested competition at secondary category,Green House emerged winners with 172 Points, Yellow House took 2nd position, with 162 points and Purple House took 3rd positions with 137 Points while Blue house finished fourth with 125 points.
At the primary school category,Green House came first with 232 points, Purple House came second with 212 points, Yellow House and Blue houses Finished third and fourth position respectively with 161 points and 136 points.
The highlight of the events was the decoration of house patrons and patroness by the management.
Prizes and Certificates were presented to the invited schools and the various houses.
