Beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s N-Power, N-SIP and N-Geep programmes in Ondo state on Thursday staged a solidarity rally in support of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The people, who thronged the Alagbaka Governor’s Office, in their large number, particularly appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari, Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Saadiya Umar Farouk, for making them beneficiaries of the various empowerment programmes.
The people particularly expressed their support for Tinubu, saying if the APC presidential candidate is elected in the Saturday’s general elections, he will continue and sustain the empowerment programmes and create more job opportunities for Youths.
The beneficiaries armed themselves with different placards with various inscriptions such as “Thank You Mr President”; “Thank You Mr Governor”; “Thank You Honourable Minister, among others.
Addressing the crowd, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu appreciated the people for backing Tinubu as their preferred candidate, stressing that the former Lagos State Governor is the way to go.
Akeredolu who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Chief Olugbenga Ale, explained that a vote for the APC presidential candidate and all other candidates of the party in the state is a vote for continuity and sustainability of the various empowerment programmes to the youth in the state.
He commended the people for appreciating what the APC government has done to provide jobs and improve the means of their livelihood.
The Governor particularly charged the beneficiaries to translate their support for Bola Tinubu to massive votes in the Saturday’s elections. He further urged them to elect all other candidates of the APC in the state to ensure overwhelming victory at the polls.
“Your Thank You must be in form of votes. That is the best way to show appreciation to Mr President; Mr President must put a successor who will continue with his laudable programmes.
“We will also need those who will assist him as members of the National Assembly. So, you must vote APC as president and as Senators, members of House of Representatives and House of Assembly here.
“I can assure you that by the time APC government continues at the Federal level we will sustain this programme.
For us to have sustainability, we must also have continuity and for us to have continuity, you must vote for APC at all levels” he stressed.
Akeredolu also advised the beneficiaries of the various empowerment programmes to make judicious use of their earnings by investing it and be employers of labour.
