MMGS Hosts AIONIAN Festival

Manuwa Memorial Grammar School,Iju-odo will host the 83rd AIONIAN Festival of sports and Academic between 10th-13th of March,2022

It would be recalled that the last AIONIAN Festival was held in Remo Grammar School,Sagamu Ogun state

According to the Schedules of Programme released by the School, On Thursday 10th, of March,There would be a re-union service to be held at Ebenezer Anglican Cathedral, Ilutitun.

On Friday 11th of March,Sports and Academic programmes would kickstart fully to be followed by Courtesy call on Government functionaries by the School.

The program would continue on Saturday with the completion of sports and Academic programmes and later on that day would be an award and dinner night.

The festival would be concluded on Sunday with a press conference and closing ceremony.

Dignitaries Expected at the Fiesta are Governor of Ondo State,Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, Commissioner of Education, Science and Education in Ondo state, Pastor Femi Agagu,HRM Oba Frederick Akinruntan,Olugbo of Ugbo kingdom,HRM Oba Oluwaseun Williams Akinyomi Alagwe,Amapetu of Mahin Kingdom,HRM OBA Gbadebo Bajowa,Rebuja of Osooro land,HRM Oba George Babatunde Faduyile,Abodi of Ikale land, HRM Oba festus Olumoyegun,Oniju of Iju-odo,Prince Dr (Gen) Oluyemi Bajowa, Jagunmolu of Ikale land and all Alumni of the prestigious citadel of learning.

The AIONIAN Sports festival which began in 1931 was founded to encourage brotherhood and academic development among 12 selected secondary schools in the old Western Region. The participating schools are Abeokuta Grammar School, Ijebu Ode Grammar School, Egbado College, Ilaro, Remo Secondary School, Sagamu, Ibadan Grammar School, Ondo Boys High School.

Others are Imade College, Owo, Ondo State, Manuwa Memorial Grammar School, Iju-Odo, Ondo State, Victory College, Ikare, Ondo State, Oduduwa College, Ile Ife, Osun State, Ilesa Grammar School and Gbongan-Ode Omu Anglican High School, Gbongan, Osun State.
